Raúl Muñoz was a Chilean track and field athlete who specialised as a sprinter. In 1935 Muñoz won gold in both the 4 x 100 metres and 4 x 400 metres relays at the South American Championships in Athletics in Santiago, Chile. The following year he was selected to run in the 400 metres at the 1936 Berlin Olympics but he did not advance from the heats. The 1939 South American Championships in Athletics were held in Lima, Peru, with Muñoz winning bronze in the 400 metres and the 4 x 400 metres relay. He competed at his final South American Championships in 1941 in Buenos Aires where he was once again part of quartet that won gold in the 4 x 400 metres relay.
