Biography

Erwin Reimer was a Chilean all-round track and field athlete who competed in the pole vault and decathlon. Reimer won gold in the pole vault at the 1939 South American Championships in Athletics in Lima, before winning bronze at the 1941 championships and silver at the 1943 championships. In the decathlon he won silver at the 1935 South American Championships, with Chilean athletes taking a clean-sweep of the podium in Santiago. Reimer competed in the decathlon at the 1936 Berlin Olympics but withdrew from the competition after just two events.
