Danish athlete Aksel Madsen was a long-distance runner who represented AIK Ålborg. Madsen ran in the marathon at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics but did not finish the course. Two years later he enjoyed much better success when he became the national champion in the marathon, winning in a time of 2-55.45.
