Biography

Ibrahim Okasha, who often competed under the name “Said Kotb”, was active in Egyptian track and field athletics throughout the 1930s, but came to settle on field events, specializing in the javelin throw, in the second half of the decade. He was selected to represent Egypt in that event at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, where he placed 18th in the qualifying round and did not advance. He continued to compete domestically and was runner-up in the javelin throw at the national championships in 1939. He was again selected to represent Egypt at the Games the following year but, as these were cancelled, he did not compete.
