Biography

Jacqueline Mazéas started her career rather late, at the age of 23, afte she had finished her studies and gotten married. In 1946 she was French champion and set the French record, but was not selected for the European Championships, as the French took only a small female contingent. She repeated as French discus champion in 1947. In 1948 she became the first Frenchwoman to surpass 40 metres in the discus, recording 40.49 at a meet in Amsterdam on 13 June. She represented GA Rouen during her career.
