Biography

Leni Schmidt won a bronze medal with the sprint relay at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics and also participated in the 100 metres, but was disqualified in the final due to two false starts. In 1924 she was German Champion in the athletics section of the German Gymnastics Association in the 100. She set two 100 metre world records, in 1924 (12.6) and 1925 (12.4). In 1928 Schmidt was the first German woman to run 200 metres under 26 seconds.

Personal Best: 100 – 12.3 (1934).
