Biography

A very technical winger, fast and usable on both flanks, Zoilo Saldombide was a kingpin of Nacional Montevideo where he played 182 matches and scored 45 goals. With the national team he played 15 games, scoring three goals. He was on the Uruguayan teams at the 1924 Paris Olympics and the 1930 FIFA World Cup, but never got to play at either tournament. He also won two Copa América, in Uruguay in 1924 and in Chile two years later.
