Biography

Domingo Tejera was a solid and reliable fullback who spent his entire sporting career with the Montevideo Wanderers FC, making 287 appearances and scoring five goals. Tejera was on the 1928 Olympic gold medal winning team but did not see any playing time. He was a regular player at the first edition of the FIFA World Championship in 1930, pairing with Josè Nasazzi, but an injury took him out after the first match against Peru and his place was taken by Ernesto Mascheroni. With the National team Tejera earned 20 caps and also won two Copa Américas, both in Chile, in 1920 and 1926.
