Biography

Kakuichi Mimura took up football after World War II as a high school student and continued this pursuit as a student at Chuo University. Upon graduation, he joined Toho Titanium and established a football club, where he served as both a player and coach. He made his international début in 1955 and was selected to represent Japan at the following year’s Melbourne Olympics, although he did not actually see any playing time in the tournament. In total, he earned four caps for his country. Following his retirement from active competition, he took up coaching Toho Titanium and led them to four victories in the Japanese Regional Leagues. He also helped the club be promoted to the Japan Soccer League’s second division twice, in 1982 and 1985, the latter being the year of his full retirement.
