Biography

Hans Hoffmeister was a graphic artist, cartoonist, and later worked for daily newspapers. During his active days and during the 1928 Amsterdam Games he portrayed many of his teammates, including the German marathon runners.

In Amsterdam Hoffmeister was eliminated in the qualifying round of the discus. He was German Champion with the discus in 1926, 1930, and 1931, and runner-up in 1925 and 1928. He earned another runner-up in javelin in 1927. In the discus he set a world record with 48.77 in 1928. This was his most successful year, as he also won Irish Championships in discus and javelin that year as well.
