Biography

Pole vaulter Reinhard Kuretzky came in an unfortunate fourth at the 1972 München Olympics. At the 1973 European Cup he finished third, and he also competed in the European Indoors from 1973-75, finishing fourth in 1974 as his best result. In 1973 he won a West German indoor title, winning his only outdoor title one year later. Kuretzky studied engineering and sports in Aachen and later worked as a teacher at a school in Düsseldorf.
