Biography

Claus Marek was German national coach for the decathlon from 1983-2004, and was national coach from 2008-10, and in 2011 became team manager for multiple disciplines. He also owned a sports consulting company. Marek placed 10th at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. He placed second at the 1976 and 1977 German Nationals. His greatest moment was a bronze medal at the 1973 Youth European Championships.
