Biography

Long-distance runner Wolfgang Riesinger was eliminated in the heats of the 5K at the 1972 München Olympics. Riesinger earned three outdoor and three indoor West German titles at different distances. He worked as a sports teacher, coach of German long distance runners, and a businessman.

Riesinger later became a pigeon breeder and writer. In 2012 he published his novel The Last Flight about endurance, high form, training methods, proper nutrition, electrolytes, short- and long-distance running, recovery, and doping.

Personal Best: 5000 – 13:41.8 (1972).
