Renato Martini was a distance runner who ran the marathon at the 1972 Olympics. He was notably good in cross-country, winning the Italian Championship in 1971 and 1972. He also won the 1972 Italian title in the “half-marathon” which was conducted that year over 30km. Martini raced in eight internationals including four consecutive appearances at the International Cross-Country Championships (1970-73).
