Shizuo Mochizuki was a Japanese track and field athlete who specialised in the pole vault. In 1930 Mochizuki won silver in the event at the International University Games in Darmstadt, Germany, finishing second to compatriot Shuhei Nishida. While studying at the Tokyo Higher Normal School he was selected to compete at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics where he finished fifth with a best clearance of 4.000 metres.
