Biography

In 1932, Teiichi Nishi was a member of the Japanese 4x400 metre relay team, which placed fifth in the final. In individual events, he competed in the 200 metres, although he was more successful at 400 m, winning three titles at the Japan Athletic Championships in 1929, 1931, and 1933. After graduating from Doshisha University he joined Sentetsu, the state-owned railway in Korea.

Personal Bests: 200 – 21.2s (1933); 400 – 49.2 (1933).
