Biography

Kotaro Shimizu was the best Japanese hurdler in the mid-1930s, winning the 110 metre hurdles at the Japan Athletics Championships in 1933 before Tadashi Murakami started his winning streak. Shimizu ran the hurdles at the 1936 Berlin Olympics but did not survive the first round.

Personal Best: 110H – 14.8 (1934).
