Biography

A member of Hamar IL, Odd Mæhlum was Norwegian javelin champion for four consecutive years – 1946-49. He competed in 13 internationals for Norway between 1946-51, including the 1948 Olympics, where he placed fifth, and the 1946 European Championships, where he was fourth. Mæhlum set two Norwegian records, posting 67.87 in 1946 and 69.08 in 1947. He later became a coach and coached Egil Danielsen, the 1956 Olympic javelin champion.

Personal Best: JT – 69.08 (1947).
