Biography

Luc Biquet won back-to-back Belgian amateur boxing titles in 1927 (bantamweight) and 1928 (featherweight). A native of Liège, he was the younger brother of noted amateur and professional boxer Nicolas Biquet (1907–1959), best known by his ring name “Petit Biquet”. One of four Liège-based boxers selected to represent Belgium at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympic Games, Luc Biquet defeated competitors from Germany and Poland before losing a decision to Víctor Peralta of Argentina in the semi final. In the ensuing bronze medal match, Biquet was defeated by Harry Devine of the United States. Following the Olympics, Biquet competed as a professional for close to two decades, until 1944. His record was 36 wins (8 by KO), 14 losses (2 by KO) and 6 ties.
