Biography

Erik Ahldén ranked second in the world in 1948 with his personal bests of 8:09.6 for 3,000 metres and 14:13.2 for 5K. He just missed a medal at the Helsinki Olympics with his fourth-place in the 5,000. Ahldén was Swedish champion at 5,000 in 1948 and in the 4K cross-country in 1946.

Personal Bests: 1,500 – 3:48.2 (1945); Mile – 4:09.4 (1946); 2,000 – 5:12.0 (1948); 3,000 – 8:09.6 (1948); 5,000 – 14:13.2 (1948).
