Biography

Mauritz Carlsson was a Swedish long-distance runner who represented IF Sörle. Carlsson competed in the 5,000 metres at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics where he finished in seventh place, setting a Swedish record of 15:18.6. The following year he improved on his own national record when he ran 15:11.3, which stood until 1917 when John Zander ran 14.59.6. At the Stockholm Olympics Carlsson also ran in the 10,000 metres where he reached the final but did not finish the race.

Personal Bests: 5000 – 15:11.3 (1913); 10000 – 32:58.2 (1912).
