Biography

Åke Hedvall was a Swedish track and field athlete who represented Västerfärnebo AIF where he specialised in the discus throw. Hedvall won his first medal at the national championships with bronze in 1932, followed by silver in 1933. In 1936 he became the national champion in the discus, earning him a place at the Berlin Olympics where he finished eighth. He continued to have success at the national championships, winning another bronze in 1937, along with silver medals in 1938 and 1940. Hedvall also won bronze in the shot put at the 1933 championships.
