Biography

The best year as an athlete for Ukrainian steeplechaser Ivan Belyayev was undoubtedly 1964. In that year he won his only Soviet title and was selected for the Soviet Olympic team. At the Olympics, Belyayev won a bronze medal behind Gaston Roelants and Maurice Herriott. Those Olympics were the only major international tournament in which he participated. Besides his 1964 national title, Belyayev won bronze at the 1967 Soviet Championships.

Personal Best: 3000S – 8:29.6 (1965).
