Biography

Nick Costes was AAU marathon champion in 1955. That year, he also finished third at the Boston Marathon, his best finish in that event. In 1956 he finished fourth at Boston. He was third that year in the AAU race, and in 1956, Boston and the AAU marathon were the Olympic qualifiers for the US team. Costes also won the AAU 25 km. title in 1954. He competed for Boston University and Slippery Rock College, and later the Boston AA and the Finnish-American AC.
