Biography

Hermann Schneider was an active member of the Athletic-Box-Club-Bern (ACBC) throughout the 1940s. Selected as a member of the 1948 Swiss Olympic boxing team, he lost his only match in the middleweight boxing tournament in London to eventual silver medallist Johnny Wright of Great Britain. He later competed at the 1951 European Championships at Milano in the light-heavyweight division, but lost his sole match to Omar Tebakka of France. Schneider worked as a gunsmith in the early 1940s.
