Biography

German-born Austrian alpine skier Edda Kainz placed 22nd in the downhill event at the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Olympics. She started her active career in Bavaria, Germany before joining the Austrian national team after the 1961 season.

In total, Kainz won four FIS races and had 22 more podiums. She retired at the young age of 25 years after the 1965 season. Kainz was the niece of Resi Hammerer.
