Biography

Margo Walters began skiing in Bear Gulch, Idaho in 1951, made the US Junior ski team in 1957, and won the Intermountain Junior Championships from 1958-60. She first skied in Europe in 1962, and was at her best there in the downhill. In 1963 she was on the podium at most of the major US races, including a victory at the Snow Cup giant slalom, second in the Roche Cup downhill and slalom, and third at the Harriman Cup downhill. Walters later served as Executive Director of the Intermountain Ski Association from 1967-70.
