Klaus Auhuber played defense for EV Landshut in his youth and became German Champion with his club in 1983. Two years later he had a short engagement at ECD Iserlohn before he returned to his home club. As a national team player he took part in the 1976 and 1980 Winter Olympics and the World Championships from 1977-1979. He later was inducted into the German Ice Hockey Hall of Fame.
