Biography
Jay Bowerman was the son of Bill Bowerman, the legendary track coach at the University of Oregon. Jay attended North Eugene High School and graduated from the University of Oregon in 1966. He was US champion in the biathlon in 1969. Bowerman eventually became a high school biology teacher and settled near Bend, Oregon.
