Biography

Dates Fryberger grew up playing with his two older brothers, Bob and Jerry, forming the “All-Fryberger Line” for the Duluth Glen Avon Peewees, who won the 1951 US PeeWee hockey championship. They later played together at Middlebury College, skating on the same line for Dates first two years in school, the only known college line made up of three brothers. In 1960-61, Dates scored 56 goals for Middlebury, the second highest college total for a season to that time, and still, as of 2009, bettered by only two other skaters.
