Biography

Ray Hadley competed in pairs with his sister, Ila Ray Hadley. Together they were third at the US Championships in 1960, qualifying them for the Olympics and World Championships. They placed 11th at the Olympics and 12th at the Worlds in 1960 but had high hopes for future years. The Hadleys finished second at the 1961 US Championships but were tragically killed with the entire US figure skating team, when their plane crashed near Brussels, while they were travelling to the 1961 World Championships, which were scheduled for Prague, Czechoslovakia.
