Biography

A 1952 ice hockey Winter Olympian for Finland, Erkki Hytönen was from Tampere where he played all his club hockey. He was with TBK Tampere from 1950-55, joined Tappara Tampere for 1955-60, and played briefly (three games) for Hilpara Tampere in 1969-70, after a break from the game. Hytönen skated on four Finnish champions in the 1950s. He played 110 league games, scoring 92 points (62+32), and also earned 39 international caps. He played at the World Championships four times, in 1954-55 and 1957-58. Hytönen later coached Tappara Tampere in the mid-1960s.
