Biography

Chris Imes was a defenseman who played at the University of Maine. He was drafted in 1993 by the Florida Panthers in the NHL Supplemental Draft, but never saw NHL ice time. Imes played six seasons of minor league pro hockey, starting with the Minnesota Moose of the IHL (International Hockey League) for two seasons, and then playing one year with the Anchorage Aces of the WCHL (West Coast Hockey League). He then played in Austria for one season and then two seasons with Ljubljana Olimpija in Slovenia before retiring.

Imes also played pro roller hockey in 1999 with the Minnesota Blue Ox. He later became a minor league coach, starting with the Tri-City Storm of the USHL (United States Hockey League) in 2000/01. He also was head coach of the Pittsburgh Forge of the NAHL (North American Hockey League) in 2001/02, an assistant with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the UHL (United Hockey League) in 2004/05, and was head coach of the Chicago Steel in the USHL in 2005/06.
