Biography

Alois Kratzer finished fourth at the 1929 World Championships in ski jumping, the only non-Norwegian in the top seven. He also competed in 1930, but did not finish his events. At the 1928 St. Moritz Winter Olympics he placed 19th in the normal hill. The 1938 Worlds were his last major competition, but he could only finish 41st. In World War II he was taken POW by the Russians. By profession he was the owner of a lodge in Rottach-Egern, which he had founded after his return in 1948.
