Rod DeHaven

Rod DeHaven was a marathoner who finished 69th in the 2000 Olympic marathon at Sydney, Australia. He made the US team at Sydney by winning the US Olympic Trials. DeHaven ran in college at South Dakota State University, winning the North Central Conference (NCC) cross-country title all four years, and leading the Jackrabbits to four NCC titles. He won 1985 NCAA D-2 Indoor title in the 1,500 metres.

DeHaven also competed at the 1999 World Championships, placing 24th in the marathon, and the 1991 World Cross-Country Championships. His best finish in a major city marathon was sixth at the 2001 Chicago Marathon. In 2004 DeHaven later became the head coach for men and women in cross-country and track & field at his alma mater. In 2013 he was inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame.
