Australian rules footballer Frank Dunin made his début in the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 1953 with Richmond. Dunin played one season with the club before taking a break to study agricultural science studies at college, returning to play in 1955. His career with Richmond lasted until 1959, playing in 69 matches and scoring 30 goals. He was only 24-years-old when he was forced to retire from the sport due to a knee injury. Prior to his retirement Dunin had the honour of playing in a demonstration match at his home Olympics in 1956 in Melbourne. The match was played between the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) and the Victorian Football League and the Victorian Football Association, with Dunin representing the latter. Following his retirement he worked as a coach and as a leading scientist in the field of agricultural science.
