Tsuyoshi Ohshita was a second- and third-baseman for the Japanese Students Team at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics demonstration baseball tournament, while he was a student at Komazawa University. He later played 12 years in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) from 1967-78, first with the Toei Flyers / Fighters from 1967-74, and then with the Hiroshima Carp from 1975-78. Ohshita was a five-time All-Star in NPB who later became a baseball coach and television commentator.
