Biography

Casper Wister substituted in for Herster Barres at right end for the East Team in the 1932 Olympic demonstration. He played football at Princeton and captained the Princeton lacrosse team. Cap Wister prepped at St. Paul’s School. He later became a banker, eventually serving as vice-president of the Girard Trust Corn Exchange Bank in Philadelphia. During World War II, Wister was an officer in the Navy from 1943-46. He is likely related to noted American horticulturist John Caspar Wister.
