Bill Logan

While studying at high school, Bill Logan played basketball and soccer. Subsequently, he attended Johns Hopkins University. Because they played neither basketball nor baseball, he tried Lacrosse and, encouraged by the team captain, joined the first team, replacing an injured player. Logan developed to become a top scorer, and was selected as an All-American in 1927. He graduated in the same year, playing another season and representing the United States in the lacrosse demonstration at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. Eventually he was picked for the All-Time Johns Hopkins team.

Logan started coaching in 1929 and went on to become head coach of soccer and lacrosse at Princeton. He held the lacrosse post until 1944, leading the team to the Intercollegiate Championship. The following year, he returned to Johns Hopkins. He was co-founder, and later president, of the United States Lacrosse Coaches Association, and between 1959-66, he acted as community manager of Sherwood Forest, a private community in Maryland. Eventually, Logan returned to academia, as academic advisor and assistant coach.
