Biography

Defender Tina Wunderlich, sister of Pia Wunderlich, was a member of the German female football squad eliminated in the group stage at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, although she did not play in any match. Four years later at Sydney she won the bronze medal with the national team and on that occasion her sister was in the squad, but did not play any match. In 1995, Tina was a World Cup runner-up, and in 1995 and 2001 won the European Championships. She won 34 international caps.

Domestically, Wunderlich played with TSV Battenberg (1991-94), FCR SG Praunheim (1994-98), 1. FFC Frankfurt (1998-2010), and finally Eintracht Frankfurt (2013-15). In 1999, 2001-03, and 2007-08 she helped Frankfurt win the German national title, and the German Cup in 1999-2003, 2007-08. In 2002, 2006, and 2008 she also was on the Frankfurt Champions League winning team.

Wunderlich turned to coaching of youth teams at Eintracht Frankfurt after her playing career. She also became an industrial clerk by profession, and worked with the Frankfurt airport company Fraport.
