German handball player Mike Bezdicek was a center runner, and placed fifth with his team at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. He won 86 international caps and scored 98 goals.
Bezdicek played on club level with TuS Hofweier (1987-89), TBV Lemgo (1989-94, 1995-98, 2004-05), SG VfL/BHW Hameln (1994-95), VfL Bad Schwartau (1998-99), TSV GW Minden (1999-2000, 2001-04), THW Kiel (2000-01), Pallamano Rubiera in Italy (2001), Keymare Almería in Spain (2005-06), LTV Wuppertal (2006), Ahlener SG (2006-07), and finally MTV Obernkirchen (2007-09). He helped Lemgo win the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1996 and both the German Cup and the German Championship in 1997.
Bezdicek turned to coaching after his active career and worked with TSV Harsewinkel (2008-13), MTV Rohrsen (2013-14), MTV Obernkirchen (2014-15), the women’s team of Handball Bad Salzuflen (2015-16), and the women’s team of HSG Fuhlen (2017-19).
