Biography

Belgian sculptor Marcel Van de Perre worked from 1938-40 in the brickyard A. Florizoone Neoceram in Nieuwport. There he led the art studio, which was specially equipped for sculpture. Two sculptures of him are still visible in public places in Nieuwport. He then became a professor at the Municipal Academy in Ghent. The motif Hockey appears in at least two sculptures.
