Raphaël Van Dorpe had a wide range of architectural skills. At the Academy of Ghent he studied decorative art, drawing and painting. In 1930 he received a royal medal in the Department of Decorative Arts. Later he became chief architect for the municipal administration of Ghent. His contribution was probably created during his studies.
