Biography

After attending a workshop, Georges Fauvelle was admitted to École des Beaux-Arts in January 1911. In 1913 he was excluded from the school for three years following incidents of which he was guilty but are not further specified. After being awarded several prizes in 1920-22, he graduated in June 1923. The project “Cercle Nautique”, submitted to the art competition, was his graduation project. He was a scholar of Emmanuel Pontremoli, professor and later director of the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts. Subsequently, Fauvelle worked as architect in Paris’ 14th arondissement. Since 1934 he was a member of the Société des architectes diplômés du gouvernement (SADG). For his service in World War I he was awarded the Croix de Guerre.
