Biography

The German architect Ernst Gerlach was instrumental in rebuilding the Community House for the regional church in Chemnitz. No further information about him is available. The submission for the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, Wartburg Stadium in Eisenach, was done together with his colleague Wilhelm Hübotter. The present Wartburg Stadium opened in 1955. In 1930, a sports field was inaugurated in Eisenach, which was used until the 1990s, but has been demolished since then. A connection to the design of Gerlach and Hübotter, however, could not be confirmed.
