Biography

Georg Eichhorn, a Swiss Art Deco sculptor, is mostly known for his sports statuettes. The list of submitted figures in the official report counts: Stop! (Goalkeeper), Let’s go (Rugby player), Finish (sprinter), Service (tennis player), Unfortunate touch (hurdles), Ultimate effort (javelin thrower), Have a good ride (skier), Attention (Boxer), and Free support scale (Gymnast). Of these, the latter was identified as a cast bronze of 24 cm height on a marble base. Whether a 16 cm high Marathon runner is identical with the Finish (sprinter), is uncertain. A 26 cm high silver coated bronze goblet for rugby by Eichhorn is available in the art trade.
