Gyula Belu

Gyula Belu represented Temesvári Athletikai Club (TAC, later known as CAT) as a short- and middle-distance runner. He won silver at the 1910 Hungarian Athletics Championship in the 880 yd run. It is documented that he competed at least until the outbreak of World War I. He remained involved in sport as an official and served as deputy chairman of the board in the western district after his hometown had become part of Romania.

After the turn of the century, Belu worked as a clerk of Mehala village, later a district of Timișoara. Later, he earned a doctorate in law and worked as a lawyer in Timisoara.
