Biography

Michel Camboulives was a French track and field athlete who specialised as a sprinter. In 1964 Camboulives finished fifth at the national championships in Colombes to earn himself a spot on the French Olympic team for the Tokyo Games. Along with Roger Bambuck he was named as one of two alternates to run in the 4 x 100 metres relay. The French team, however, retained the same four athletes in the heats, semi-finals, and the final, where they won bronze, with neither Camboulives or Bambuck competing. His Olympic selection was the high point of his athletics career, with Camboulives then working as a physiotherapist for the rest of his life.
