Biography

Janine Bowman was a pistol shooter who competed for the USA at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She shot both air and sport pistol competitively but competed at the Olympics only in sport pistol. In sport pistol, Bowman was National Champion in 2000, runner-up in 1999, and fifth in 1998.

Bowman started shooting when she was a sophomore at the US Coast Guard Academy, as an alternative to joining the drum & bugle corps. She became a lieutenant in the Naval Engineering Support Unit with the US Coast Guard.
