Biography

Nettie Davis was a beach volleyballer who played alongside Jenny Johnson-Jordan at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Davis played in college at UCLA and helped lead them to three NCAA championship appearances. Davis was a two-time All-American and graduated with a degree in psychology.

Davis and Johnson-Jordan began playing together in 1997. Davis also played three seasons on the Bud Light Four-Person Tour and was twice the tour MVP. She led the USA to a gold medal in four-women’s play at the 1997 Beach Volleyball World Championship. During her career Davis won 13 major beach tournaments.

After her playing career ended Davis became a volleyball coach, eventually rising to be the head coach at The Master’s University in Santa Clarita, California. Her husband, Byron Davis, a former UCLA swimmer, also coached the swim team at the school.
